Prayer - Rob Spurlock

Jesus tells us why we pray and how. It is “so that the Father is glorified in the Son” John 14:13. Are we willing to pray until we get an answer? Do we only pray for what we want? Our needs and those directly around us? Didn’t Jesus lay down His life for so much more than that? He came to bring life to the world. He broke through the barrier of the spirit world and became a man so He could fulfill His Father’s mission. Are we willing to fail if it brings glory to God? Will we accept loss if it means lifting up the name of our Lord? I have laid out many questions here in an attempt to open your eyes to the perspective of the New Testament believer. We are not our own. 1Co 6:20 “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.” So, for the matter of prayer. Pray often. Pray earnestly. Press until you get a breakthrough. Tarry at the altar for His glory. For when we stretch ourselves beyond our ability we’ve done all we can do. On our knees at Jesus feet is where in-depth virtue and strength are born and nurtured. So, pray in the name of Jesus. Call to Him. Press in. Search for His presence. And earnestly contend for the faith so that the Father is glorified in the Son.
